Islamic Relief Kenya today donated start up kits for students who today graduated from Garissa Vocational Training Center. They also donated equipment’s to students pursuing skill based courses in the institution.
The CEC for Education Hon Ebla Minhaj said a total of 130 students benefited from the organization that had been sponsoring them in partnership with County Government.
She said the start up kits will enable the students to establish their business activities in relation to various skill based courses they acquired from the institution.
She expressed hopes that many unemployed youth will join the institution that currently offers skill based courses to 300 trainees. “The institution will soon introduce new business oriented courses to attract and shore up enrollment’ said the CEC, She appreciated the efforts of the Islamic Relief Kenya that partnered with County Government to address challenges facing youth in Garissa County. She urged other organizations to move in and support the local youth to acquire skill based courses for self reliance and help them achieve sustainable Livelihood.
